Greatness can be found where you least expect it

The quote "You can't judge a book by it's cover," is proved when up and coming star Susan Boyle, from Britain's got talent, proved the world wrong with her angelic voice. A few weeks ago the middle age women performed, "I Dreamed a Dream" and left judges, the audience, and people around the world watching at home speechless.
Susan Boyle is a middle aged from Blackburn Scotland who proved everyone wrong with her voice despite the way the she looks. Rude comments have been thrown toward Boyle about her appearance her whole life. Rosie O' Donald refers to her as "Shrek." These rude remarks can cause serious mental diseases to someone. Critics say that the best part of the joy was watching the crude and obnoxious faces os judges Simon Cowell and Piers Morgan. The audience and judges shifted in an moment from judgmental to open-mouthed admiration.
Susan Boyle is unmarried and unkissed ( as she said in an interview), has no job and lives with her cat in a small cottage. She was use to only singing at her local church. Because body image and appearance effects so much of our views and opinions of others Boyle has become a hero to people dreaming of being geared away from obscurity to fame. Additionally, to those who cheer her and look beyond her looks in a world that is so shallow. The audiences and judges " were initially blinded by entrenched stereotypes of age, class, gender, and Western beauty standards, Ms. Pogrebin added, " until her book was opened, and everybody saw what was inside."

The audience and judges “were initially blinded by entrenched stereotypes of age, class, gender and Western beauty standards,” she added, “until her book was opened, and everybody saw what was inside.”

Watch the youtube video below of Susan Boyle and ask yourself do looks really matter?
